Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 30, 2015 You may not be familiar with the name of multi-platinum songwriter Keith James, but you’ve heard his work on Jeremih’s “Birthday Sex,” Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint, and Wales “That Way,” among many others. Making his debut as a performer, the South Side Chicago native traveled from his Chicago city home for a stay in Los Angeles to collaborate with long time friend and multi-platinum producer Mick Schultz, which stretched into several months tucked away in Schultz’s Malibu studio, where he recorded his debut EP, From The Grey, inspired by the notion that stereotypes and genre lines should be blurred. “The slogan ‘one world, one people’ is evident in every song from the progression choice to the subject matter,” James explains, “taking it all the way to the cover artwork, using no color lines. The cover art represents the essence that all colors are appreciated with no sexual discrimination. From The Grey is breaking the cultural restraints we place on ourselves because of what we hear, what we see, what we’re taught, and what we accept as reality.” From The Grey, which is officially out June 16th, includes James’ first single, “Not My Day,” the explosive earworm with uplifting dance beats and catchy lyrics and is being projected by some to be 2015’s Song of the Summer. A full track listing of the R&B/Pop EP, described by Schultz as a “vintage retro vibe, but very commercial,” is available below. James will perform all five tracks off From The Grey at the official release show at the Hard Rock Café Chicago on June 26th. Tickets can be purchased now at http://smarturl.it/FTGshow. Fans who pre-order From The Grey will get two tracks instantly – including “Not My Day,” which has started hitting Top 40 and Hot A/C formats this month, and “Treat Her Like A Lady,” the fourth track on the EP, which proves chivalry is not dead. Austin, Texas (PRWEB) May 27, 2015 The inaugural Rock in Rio USA festival kicked off this year at the new MGM Resorts Festival Grounds, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite the arid climate and foot traffic from nearly 200,000 rock fans, the event site remained green, lush and free of dirt – thanks to more than a half million square feet of Act Global artificial grass. The 40-acre City of Rock site showcased musical acts on three stages, a Ferris wheel, themed Rock Streets, a VIP viewing area, wedding chapel, and a 64-foot-high zip line towering above the festival grounds. The impressive two-weekend musical line-up included Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Metallica, Foster the People, John Legend, No Doubt, Deftones, Gary Clark Jr, Ed Sheeran and more. The site was also covered in 532,800 square feet of artificial landscape turf, contracted by Martin-Harris Construction and installed by Park West Sports Systems. The Xtreme Lawn product features a blend of lifelike green turf fibers, along with a light brown thatch layer to lend the comfort and appearance of real grass. The synthetic turf provided a soft, clean surface throughout the event grounds for the enjoyment of Rock in Rio fans. “Artificial turf is an ideal, versatile solution for event spaces and venues, particularly in very hot, rainy or inclement weather,” said John Baize, director and co-owner of Act Global. “Dust, mud, maintenance, and watering are all minimized for the ease of event management and enjoyment of festival guests.” The environmentally-friendly turf required no mowing or watering by Rock in Rio personnel, saving the associated time and costs required to maintain a large festival site. It is highly UV protected and durable to withstand heavy foot traffic as well as intense sunlight. Feedback regarding the use of synthetic turf has been positive from the customer and public opinion. Several online commenters remarked that the artificial turf was comfortable and great for controlling dust and dirt on site. This may be the first event on the new turf, but it won’t be the last. The MGM Resorts Festival Grounds can hold up to 12 events per year, with next up “Party for a Cause” April 1-3, 2016, with Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley and Kenny Chesney as headliners. Rock in Rio is slated to return in 2017. ABOUT ACT GLOBAL Act Global is a world leader in synthetic turf and artificial grass manufacturing. Charleston, SC (PRWEB) May 20, 2015 On May 19, 2015, My Positive Perspective host Jason Deierlein aired an episode with Charleston musician Irene Rose. At the beginning of the episode, Deierlein said, “This event’s significance is the tea leaves being harvested are mature enough to be picked and harvested.” Rose then says, “I really enjoy this time of the year, it is one of Charleston’s biggest musical festivals.” Deierlein then says, “All the tea anybody could drink is included and that is another thing about this event.” Deierlein then asks Rose, “What do you like about the talent with this year’s event?” Rose replies, “It is a talented group of musicians playing at this year’s Charleston Tea Plantation sponsored event. Rose continues, “The musicians will be highlighted by Sheryl Crow, however many of the local musicians I know personally.” Deierlein then says, “We certainly do have a great group of local talent and many of them will be playing and that is good” Deierlein then turns to Rose and asks, “What does it mean to you as a musician to be able to perform at these terrific events with lots of people and a fun climate?” Rose replies, “It is awesome, you know I was up in Nashville playing songs and would pray what I would do if I was unable to share this gift I was given. I was told to share it with who was around me.” My Positive Perspective is a media outlet believing that improvement in our community will be best achieved by focusing on the good things happening in our world today. Having survived a near fatal car accident as a youth, a shift of perception forced one to have a mentality of always concentrating on the brighter sides of things. This was true, and in my book, Return From a Comatose Mind, this belief was put to the test. Appreciation for life was the biggest thing one took away from my brush with death, and it is because of that gives me such a huge desire to be helpful to many. Turtle Island, Fiji (PRWEB) May 28, 2015 Thirty-five years after the release of the film The Blue Lagoon, the director Randal Kleiser and leading actor Christopher Atkins have returned to the iconic location where the movie was filmed: Turtle Island in Fiji. The VIP guests attended festivities on Turtle Island from May 16th – 27th to celebrate the anniversary of the release of The Blue Lagoon, which was filmed on the island the year before it opened to the public as a private island resort. Festivities included a screening of The Blue Lagoon under the stars followed by a Q&A with Kleiser and Atkins, Fijian music and a tour of the most memorable sites and moments from the movie. Kleiser and Atkins, who have maintained a close friendship since the filming of the movie 35 years ago, were thrilled to return to the location and reminisced about their time on the island back in the 1970’s. “It’s a magical place, there is nothing like this island [that] I’ve ever found on the face of the earth,” said Atkins. “They say here on Turtle Island ‘once discovered, never forgotten’ – well, that’s probably the best saying you can ever have for this place.” Kleiser was also moved by the experience saying, “I feel a true connection to this island.” Turtle Island could conceivably be called the third lead character in the movie, considering it’s natural beauty, untouched landscape and exotic flora and fauna. In fact, a species of iguana that appeared in the film had been at that point unknown to biologists, sparking a research trip to the islands and has since been named the Fiji Crested Iguana. Turtle Island was purchased in the 1970’s by Richard Evanson, who to this day resides there with his family. Richard made it his life work to rejuvenate the land and build a home. It wasn’t until the late 1970’s when The Blue Lagoon producers first approached Richard to use his island. When the project finished filming, Richard realized how much he enjoyed having people on the island who appreciated its beauty as much as he did, so he decided to open the property to guests. Summing up the week on Turtle Island, Atkins said, “To come back after all these years and to see this island and put my feet back in the sand…it’s a very, very, very special time for me right now.” # # # About Turtle Island Located at one of the most stunning places on earth, Turtle Island in Fiji is the ultimate all-inclusive private island paradise. Boulder, Colorado (PRWEB) May 21, 2015 Songs for the Sangha, the latest offering from Deva Premal & Miten with Manose, marks an exploration of fresh musical terrain for the beloved devotional musicians. Ancient Indian texts, sung with effortless artistry by Deva Premal, are finely crafted with her partner Miten’s sensual reggae grooves into pulsing, uplifting, spiritually inspired — and inspiring — anthems. Add into the mix the soaring sound of classical Indian bamboo flute, courtesy of renowned Nepalese bansuri maestro and longtime accompanist Manose, the rock-solid foundation of producer Joby Baker’s bass and drums, and UK keyboard wizard Spencer Cozens’ tasteful, jazz-inflected acoustic piano work and there, in a nutshell, is the new album. Surrounding themselves with three such fine and diversely influenced musicians, Deva Premal & Miten have transformed their sound into a musical magic carpet ride, rendered exquisitely by an elegant five-piece band – their first recording outing with a larger ensemble of players. Deva’s ethereal, velvety voice brings a warm embrace to the venerable chants; that unmistakable voice has carried these healing sounds forward into hearts worldwide for over two decades. Miten offers beautiful songs composed with a depth of feeling and maturity that has grown out of many years spent in meditation communities, while Manose’s exquisite bansuri flutes carry breezes from the temples of his native Nepal that shimmer throughout the album. Meanwhile, Canada’s Grammy-nominated Joby Baker (electric bass/upright bass/drums/guitar/ vocals) and English pianist Spencer Cozens (acoustic piano/keyboards) – noted for his work with John Martyn and Joan Armatrading – help to create a unique soundscape, moving with fearless grace from Western classical music to swampy reggae grooves with rich soul and jazz references. Recorded in a house on Australia’s east coast near Byron Bay, the recording exudes a warm spontaneity – even including some of the natural sounds, such as cicadas, that they heard in the very relaxed and intimate recording environment. Translated from Sanskrit, sangha means “spiritual family,” and the golden thread that runs throughout this recording is a pure sense of harmony, adventure and devotion — qualities for which anyone would be grateful in any family or community, spiritual or otherwise. This new album weaves the ancient Sanskrit mantras into songs celebrating the inner journey, melding many different musical and spiritual traditions in a joyous flow. Songs for the Sangha is a loving invitation to shift away from the daily rush of “doing” into our deeper realms of simply “being.” Play it while driving to work, play it while cooking dinner, play it in the yoga studio, play it in the bedroom, play it in ear buds on city streets; people may wonder why there’s such a radiant smile on your face, but that’s exactly the artists’ intention. The music is there to support as well as to entice the listener. As the Rumi poem featured in the final track says, “Draw near, draw near and I will whisper in your ear, the name whose radiance makes the spheres to dance: OM…” Deva Premal & Miten have been partners in life and music for over twenty years and are widely recognized as the pioneers of Western mantra singing, providing millions of people worldwide with the musical soundtrack for their yoga practice and meditation. With CD sales alone now standing at over 1.5 million copies and digital sales significantly eclipsing that, the artists have touched many people globally through both their music and their extensive live concert tours. Performing in more than two dozen countries almost every year, they also lead popular tantric gatherings in such diverse settings as Corfu, Fiji, and Tulum, Mexico. Deva & Miten have received accolades from such luminaries as best-selling author Eckhart Tolle, who calls their music “pure magic” and Hollywood icon Cher, who cites Deva’s album The Essence as “my favorite CD to do yoga to.” Even His Holiness the Dalai Lama commented on Deva’s voice and music: “beautiful.” Boulder-based White Swan Records, a leader in the devotional and yoga music genre, will release Songs for the Sangha on June 23rd. # # # # # Songs for the Sangha Track Listing 1. According to Marisa García-Tablado, director of World Vision in Spain: “Ticketbis is a key strategic partner for us. We’ve relied on them and their users for the past two years to help us fight poverty and inequality affecting millions of children throughout the world.” The new project which Ticketbis has chosen to expand their CSR program is “Help Philippines” whose mission is to give aid to families that have been affected by the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan. The main needs which World Vision have responded to in this case have been the reconstruction of housing and improving access to basic necessities. In addition, Ticketbis decided to continue collaborating to help those families most affected by the economic crisis in Spain. With this project, which has so far benefited over 8,000 people, World Vision aims to deliver school supplies, personal hygiene kits and household cleaning materials to those in need. Moreover, the startup has also continued their participation in the development of impoverished communities in Bolivia, another project led by World Vision in Latin America.
